“Out of all the pieces you’ve created, which one means the most to you and why? (i.e., technical achievement, most beautiful, personal/emotional significance, etc.)”
This is a hard one for me. Nothing JUMPS right out and says OVER HERE!!!! Pick Me!!!!!!! Because there are a lot of special pieces in my mind’s eye at the moment.
But…. this one stands out as pretty special 🙂
I made it while in a training session in San Francisco. It was commissioned to me, by my Father, as a gift, for my Mother , for their wedding anniversary. And I am a schmuck, But I can’t tell you want year. Possibly 40th?
What makes it special, is technically there were several new techniques here for me. Facet stone setting, though this is a bezel set, it still has its challenges, Using 14kt gold. Real Diamonds. In tube settings. and the woven chain. Hammer forged clasp. I feel as though in the moment I was able to grasp the best of my ability in many new techniques, and execute a wonderful design, and piece.
And of course, My Mom is my biggest fan, customer, and one-woman-cheering team. So she loves it, of course. 🙂
It is a piece I am truly proud or creating; and extra glad it’s a family heirloom.
